Cuban diplomats visit Mahoning Valley businesses

YOUNGSTOWN — Two Cuban diplomats hosted by Youngstown State University will tour local companies this week.

Deputy Chief Juan Lamigueiro and First Secretary Sergio Vazquez of the Cuban Interests Section in Washington, D.C., will tour Vinylume in Austintown and Summer Garden in Boardman.

The diplomats will engage in trade discussions with local business representatives.

This morning the diplomats spoke to YSU students and faculty at the Williamson College of Business about the recent growth in the country and the potential for more.

In January, Cuba saw some positive changes when the Obama administration allowed for easier travel to Cuba and a wide range of new export opportunities.
