Promotions made today in Warren Fire Department

WARREN — A swearing-in ceremony was to day in city council chambers for three members of the Warren Fire Department who were promoted because of the recent retirement of assistant fire Chief Dan Suttles.

Replacing Suttles as assistant chief is Bill Monrean, moving up from captain. Replacing Monrean as captain is Al Brown, who was a lieutenant. Replacing Brown as lieutenant is Ken Horm, who was a firefighter.

Brown is the second black person in the department’s history to attain the rank of captain, said Chief Ken Nussle. The other is Orneil Heller, who is now an assistant chief.
