AUSTINTOWN

The Tigers took the opener in extra innings after overcoming a 7-1 deficit and tying the game with five runs in the top of the seventh. Craig Lewis homered and scored three runs for Howland. Vinnie Ruberto and Austin Cooley each had three hits. Michael Massucci worked five scoreless innings in relief for the win. Tommy James homered for Fitch. The Falcons overcame a 6-1 deficit in the second game with two five-run innings. Jarod Kaptorasky singled, tripled and drove in three runs for Fitch.

Canfield 11, Warren Harding 0

WARREN

Ryan Cheslik worked four innings for the win and had three hits, scored twice and drove in two runs. Pete Hernandez, Ryan Head and Anthony Vross also had two RBIs for Canfield (2-0).

East Palestine 6, Lowellville 1

EAST PALESTINE

Josh Fristik pitched six innings and struck out 13 and Marshall Huddleston whad two hits with two RBIs. Fristik had three hits and scored two runs.

McDonald 3, Wellsville 1

WELLSVILLE

McDonald pitcher Ben Carkido struckout the side in the seventh inning to preserve a victory over Wellsville. Carkido finished with eight strikeouts in the complete game win. Alex Dickson led the Blue Devils (1-0) with two hits.

Mineral Ridge 4, Southern 1

SALINEVILLE

Southern took a one-run lead into the seventh inning, before Mineral Ridge (1-1) struck for four runs to win it. Kyle Barnett knocked in a run and scored in the pivotal innin. Aaron Frantz pitched three shutout innings to earn the win.

Jackson-Milton 11, Columbiana 4

COLUMBIANA

Nate Clark had nine strikeouts and two hits at the plate to lead Jackson-Milton over Columbiana. Braden Nagy added a pair of hits and three RBIs for the Blue Jays (2-0). Jake Clark suffered the loss for the Clippers (0-2).

Champion 2, Brookfield 1

CHAMPION

Kyle Forrest had three strikeouts and picked up the win for the Flashes (2-0). Michael Turner had two strikeouts and earned the save.

Western Reserve 8, South Range 6

BERLIN CENTER

John Clegg had three hits and three RBIs and Wyatt Larimer picked up the win for the Blue Devils (1-1). Ryan Miller had two hits for the Raiders.

LATE MONDAY

Champion 11, Brookfield 2

BROOKFIELD

Lucas Nasonti had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Flashes. Seth Thomas picked up the win and Josh Summerfield had the loss for the Warriors.

SOFTBALL

McDonald 3, Wellsville 0

WELLSVILLE

Cheyenne Titus threw a perfect game against Wellsville, striking out eight. Titus also had a pair of hits and Rachel Ward had two RBIs for the Blue Devils.

Campbell 20, Youngstown Christian 3

CAMPBELL

Hannah Michaels ripped a bases-loaded triple and threw a one-hitter, striking out 10, in the Red Devils’ victory. Dominique Hamilton had two bunt singles and three RBIs.

Columbiana 14, Jackson-Milton 7

COLUMBIANA

Haley Thom had a pair of hits and three RBIs, while Holly Totthardt struckout six in Columbiana’s win over Jackson-Milton. Danyelle McMaster added four singles for the Clippers (1-0).

Mineral Ridge 5, Southern 0

SALINEVILLE

Darby Kolesar threw a one-hitter and struck out 15 for the Rams. Allie Watkins had three hits for Mineral Ridge.

CHAMPION

Amber Ricci had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Flashes. Alayna Fell had three hits and two RBIs for the Flashes.

Canfield 24, Boardman 4

BOARDMAN

Darby Cockrell had three hits, including a double, and Kara Rothbauer singled, doubled and scored four runs as the Cardinals opened their season with a rout of the Spartans. Canfield broke it open with a six-run second inning and scored 12 runs in the seventh. Allison Fabry pitched a four-hitter.
