Kasich signs $7B Ohio transportation bill


COLUMBUS – Gov. John R. Kasich today signed the 2016-2017 Transportation Budget Bill into law.

The $7 billion bill helps fund approximately 1,600 projects across Ohio, including expansions to Interstate 71 in Columbus and Interstate 70 in Clark County, the second phase of Cleveland’s Opportunity Corridor, upgrades to the Interstate 475/U.S. Route 20 interchange in Lucas County, a new interchange at Cherry Valley Road in Newark, and the Mill Creek Expressway in Cincinnati.

Other highlights of the new budget include $600 million to local governments for road and bridge improvements and reforms to driver training that make Ohio roads safer.
