Former teacher gets 10 years for child porn charges

YOUNGSTOWN — Paul Rektor, 35, of Hollywood Avenue, was sentenced in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court to 10 years in prison on child pornography charges.

Rektor, a former part-time teacher at Youngstown Christian School, pleaded guilty to three counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material and nine counts of pandering sexually oriented material before Judge R. Scott Krichbaum, who also handed down the sentence.

The charges are all second degree felonies.

Rektor was arrested in October after a search warrant was served at his home.

He must also register as a sex offender every six months for 25 years after he is released from prison.

Because the sentence was recommended by both sides, there is no appeal.
