AUCTIONS

Junior League of Youngstown will have a quarter auction fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 11 at Zion Lutheran Church, 3300 Canfield Road in Cornersburg. It allows guests to place bids in 25-cent increments on such gifts as Cleveland Browns memorabilia, restaurant gift cards, holiday decorations and tickets to the Great Lakes Theatre. In addition there will be a 50-50 raffle and gift bag raffle. A fire pit from Ohio Flame will be the halftime raffle item. Attendees are permitted to take their own food and beverages (alcohol permitted). A hot dog bar will be provided by Suzie’s Dogs & Drafts. Dessert also will be provided. Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance for $15 each by calling the League office at 330-743-3200 or via PayPal at www.jlyoungstown.org. Tables of eight are available for $100. Proceeds benefit the Junior League of Youngstown. Donations of gift baskets and gift cards also are being collected for the event. Call the League office to make a donation.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will host an auction beginning at 6 p.m. Oct. 8 by Baer Auctioneer Service. Cash or checks will be accepted. There will be a wide variety of items as well as a bake sale. A food stand will have sandwiches beginning at 4:30 p.m. For information call the church at 330-549-2333.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will host its annual basket auction Sunday. Doors will open at 2 p.m. and the drawing will be at 4. Donations are $5. Only 150 to 200 tickets will be sold, so tickets may be sold out if you try to buy them at the door. BINGO PARTIES

St. Rose Church, 61 E. Main St., Girard, will host bingo night, Round 2, on Friday. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and bingo will start at 6. Admission is $55 per ticket, which includes a buffet of pasta and meatballs, chicken francaise, roasted potatoes, mixed vegetables, salad and homemade bread. Beverages are included. Games will pay out $6,000, and there will be seven door prize drawings at $100 each with a bonus door prize of $200 in lottery tickets. Trumbull Mobile Meals and Premier Designs Jewelry will host a night of Bling and Bingo at 5 p.m. Thursday at the TMM office, 323 E. Market St., Warren. Play bingo and win prizes of jewelry. Premier Jewelry also may be ordered with 20 percent of sales donated to TMM March for Meals fundraiser. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

BOOK SALES

Friends of the Community Library of the Shenango Valley, 11 N. Sharpsville Ave., Sharon, Pa., will have its Big Fall Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9 and from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 10 and 11. New this season are recently donated classic collectibles and a young adult section.

CASINO NIGHTS

Blessed Sacrament Parish, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, will host a Casino Night & Texas Hold ’Em on Saturday in the parish’s Covelli Gymnasium. The tournament begins at 5:30 p.m. Register at the parish from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those who pay $50 will receive $1,300 in chips. If you register early, you receive an additional $200 in chips through Thursday. You must be 21 years old to attend. Food, beer, raffles, poker and blackjack will be featured. Delightful Evangelical Congregational Church, 2473 Barclay Messerly Road, Southington, will host a craft and vendor show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 18. It will feature homemade crafts and home party vendors. Crafters and vendors are still needed. Proceeds will benefit the church.

St. Jude Women’s Guild needs vendors for its annual craft show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 15 at the St. Jude Activity Center, 180 Seventh St., Columbiana. The show features hand-crafted and homemade items, a basket auction, bake sale, big prize raffle and a lunch counter with a varied menu including vegetable beef soup. TNR of Warren is looking for vendors for its 6th annual Holiday Craft Show, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18 at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren. Christ Church Presbyterian, 1933 Canfield Road, Youngstown (on the corner of Hopkins and Canfield roads), will host its annual Pumpkin Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will host a fall trash and treasure sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday is bargain bag day. Coffee and doughnuts will be available.

First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will have a clothing rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Clothing will be priced to sell and proceeds will go to Niles Community Service to help those in need.

First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa., will sponsor a rummage sale Friday and Saturday. There will be good used clothing, jewelry, toys, small appliances, linens, antiques and collectibles. The sale will include a bake sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Saturday is $1 per bag day from 9 a.m. to noon.

Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has gently used and new back-to-school and college clothing as well as for the entire family each Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a 20 percent discount off the entire purchase for all students.
