Rescue agency will host bake sale

YOUNGSTOWN

Legacy Dog Rescue will host a Bake Sale and Adoption event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Family Video, 4385 Kirk Road.

Homemade baked goods will be available, as well as some local dogs who need to find their forever homes.

Legacy just assumed responsibility for a 6 month-old puppy that had been tossed from a moving vehicle. He will require two surgeries to correct his front right leg.

All proceeds from the bake sale will go toward Riley’s surgery. To bake for the event, email Legacy_Paula@aol.com.

Heart Reach will host 5K run/walk

Heart Reach Ministries, a local nonprofit organization serving youth and families of Youngstown, will host the “Hustle 4 Heart Reach,” a 5K run/walk at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Thomas Masters Pavilion in Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road.

Women’s club will host candidates

WARREN

Warren Republican Women’s Club is hosting a Candidates’ Night and membership mixer at 6 p.m. Thursday at Hidden Cafe, 4248 N. River Road.

There will be a wine bar and an hors d’oeuvres buffet. The cost is $12 for members and $6 for nonmembers.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and the public may meet candidates.

Degree conferred

SALEM

Faith Court Order of Amaranth had its annual inspection on Sept. 20 at the Salem Masonic Building.

The inspecting officer was Loraine Mumaw, and Rebecca Ronshausen presided.

The Amaranth degree was conferred on Brad Lankford, and a check was presented for the Ohio Amaranth Scholarship fund.

The court’s official visit will be Friday preceded by a lasagna dinner.
