LEADERSHIP

Lisa Long has been selected to lead the Institutional Advancement program at Salem Regional Medical Center. Long most recently worked as the associate director of Development at The Rich Center for Autism at Youngstown State University. Long has a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

MEDICINE

Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates, the Mahoning Valley’s largest orthopedic surgery practice, announced that Laurie Garman has been named practice administrator. Garman brings a strong health care and financial background to the practice.

Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates offers orthopedic surgery with nine board-certified physicians.

Dr. James A. Shaer is accepting new patients as the latest orthopedic surgeon to join Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates. Dr. Shaer is an orthopedic surgeon whose practice focuses on fracture care, musculoskeletal injuries and general orthopedics. He began seeing patients in Youngstown Orthopaedic’s Building A at 6470 Tippecanoe Road in Canfield on Sept. 23.

HOSPITALITY

Travaglini Enterprises Inc. recently announced its three area hotels have been ranked the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 Holiday Inn Express hotels in the country.

Travaglini Enterprises Inc. is reportedly the only operator to achieve this in the history of the Holiday Inn Express brand.

The rankings were determined by independent guest surveys submitted to InterContinental Hotels Group.

Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Warren was ranked No. 1; the Holiday Inn Express on Conneaut Lake Road in Meadville, Pa., was ranked No. 2 and the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in West Middlesex, Pa., was ranked No. 3.
