WaterFire festival returns

SHARON, PA.

The third and final WaterFire art and entertainment festival of the year in downtown Sharon will be Saturday from 1-11 p.m.

The festival is expected to attract tens of thousands of people. It will climax in the ceremonial lighting of dozens of wood braziers anchored to the surface of the Shenango River at 7 p.m. To learn more, go to waterfiresharonpa.org.

State Street will be lined with artisans and craftsmen. Multi-media artist Michael Long will create a piece of art near the Army/Navy store. A marketplace and lounge will be set up in the Winner Arts and Culture Center.

Historical walking tours of downtown will begin at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Meet in front of Donna’s Diner, 10 W. State St.

Music will include the Greenville Symphony Orchestra at 5 p.m. in the Penn State Shenango auditorium. On the main stage at Connelly Boulevard and Railroad Street, bands are scheduled between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m.
