BHS volleyball results

The Boardman Spartans Volleyball team defeated Niles 3-0 (25-12, 25-13, 25-10) on Sept. 8 to improve their record to 6-3 on the year. Krista Johnson paced the way for the Spartans with eight service points, Courtney Platt added 24 digs, Alexis Romero had 12 assists and Amber McMillan finished with seven kills.

The volleyball team lost a tough fought battle to a very solid Hubbard team 1-3 (25-20, 23-25, 16-25, 12-25) on Sept. 9. Courtney Platt had 10 service points for the Spartans, along with 25 digs. Katie Platt contributed with 25 assists, Hope Landers added 10 kills and Amanda Lipke had three blocks. This loss drops the ladies record to 6-4 on the season.

The Boardman volleyball team defeated Struthers on Sept. 15 by a score of 3-1 (25-8, 22-25, 25-9, 25-19) to improve to 7-4 at the midway point of the season. Hope Landers scored 10 points, Katie Platt had 24 assists, Rachel Hosa led the team in kills with nine, while Courtney Platt was the defensive standout with 25 digs.

Improving to 8-4 on the season on Sept. 16, the Boardman Spartans volleyball team defeated Girard 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-16) behind a strong team effort. AMber McMillan had eight points for the Spartans, while Amanda Lipke led the team with seven kills and five blocks.

The Platt sisters, Katie and Courtney, added 18 assists and 21 digs, respectively.
