Daniel O’Hara, a senior at Youngstown State University, was among the students dressed for success for a networking event with potential employers from the Mahoning Valley.

The Williamson College of Business Administration hosted the “Meet the Employers Day” at Williamson Hall on campus Wednesday.

Employers from private, nonprofit and government sectors had the opportunity to discuss internship opportunities and identify potential candidates for full-time positions.

Companies that participated included Vallourec Star, a producer of products for the oil and gas industry, and Hill, Barth and King, an accounting firm. The event was open to all current business students.

O’Hara said it was a great opportunity to find full-time work since he will be graduating at the end of the year.

“It’s a great opportunity for students to connect with employers from the local community,” Mary Coller, director of Undergraduate Student Services, said in a statement.

The network event will take place once a semester, Coller said.

Thirty employers attended the event. Coller said she expected 100 students to attend.

It also will be a lead-in for the university’s “Internship Interview Day,” which takes place in October, said Christina Costello, an assistant coordinator for USS.

Costello said USS hopes to expand the employer base in the future.
