Connells’ 50th marked with surprise party

YOUNGSTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Connell Sr. of Youngstown were honored with a surprise party on Sept. 12 to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. It took place at Grace Family Church in Canfield and was hosted by their son and his wife, Bobby and Jennifer Connell of Youngstown. They have three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The former Wilma Blank and Mr. Connell were married Sept. 19, 1964, at the Church of the Good Shepherd. The couple are members of First Free Will Baptist Church.

Mr. Connell retired in 1984 from Republic Steel, where he worked as a scarfer.
