Salem hospital parking deck closed next week

Salem Regional Medical Center officials say the first level of the hospital’s parking deck, accessible from the East State Street entrance, will be closed from 7 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The hospital’s press release did not say why the deck was being closed.

Alternate indoor parking will be available in the lower level of the deck, which is accessible from the hospital’s East Pershing Street entrance and provides elevator access to the patient tower lobby.

Additional facility parking is available in the lots on the south side of State Street, off Southeast Boulevard and Pershing, and also across the street from SRMC’s main campus in the north lots by the Salem Medical Arts building and the SRMC Professional Services Building, also known as Salem Medical Center.

People parking in the north lots can access the hospital through the ground-floor entrance of the SRMC Professional Services Building and use the elevated walkway to cross East State Street. Parking is free throughout the entire SRMC campus, including the parking deck.
