Purnells mark golden wedding anniversary

AUSTINTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas James Purnell of Austintown, marked their golden wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Springfield Grille in Boardman, hosted by their son, Robert (Jocelyn) Purnell of Austintown and their children.

Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren complete the family.

The former Karen Roberta Bickerstaff married Mr. Purnell on Aug. 10, 1964, in Monroe, Mich. The couple are members of Ohltown United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Purnell retired in 2004 from Antone’s Restaurant in Austintown, where she was a waitress. She is a member of Youngstown Saxon Club.

Mr. Purnell worked for Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority in Youngstown, where he was a contract specialist. He retired in 2012. He also is a member of various Masonic groups.
