Playhouse adds ‘Chorus Line’ show

Due to strong demand, the Youngstown Playhouse is extending its current production of “A Chorus Line” by adding a performance at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
Already scheduled performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Jazz show features Beasley and Lloyd

A “Jazz on the Avenue” event featuring Walter Beasley will take place Nov. 13 at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center, 7440 South Ave. Dinner begins at 6 p.m., and the concert at 7:30. The event also will feature special guest appearances by keyboardist James Lloyd and vocalist Pete Belasco.

Sing-Out Salem reunion planned

The Salem Historical Society is trying to arrange a reunion of Sing-Out Salem, and is trying to identify people who took part in the events who can be seen in old photos.
A meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Dale Shaffer Library, 239 S. Lundy Ave. Persons with Sing-Out Salem memorabilia, including records, tapes and photos, are asked to bring them and help spread the word to former members. Call 330-337-8514.
