TODAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $7. No reservations are necessary. Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd., Youngstown, will serve a free community dinner from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The meal comprises pasta, meatballs, salad, dessert and beverages.

THURSDAY

Woodworth Church of the Brethren, 30 E. Western Reserve Road, Boardman, will serve beef tips and noodles for takeout only from 2:30 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. FRIDAY

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. Frozen pirogi also will be sold. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up starting at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Lordstown Christian Church is sponsoring its 33rd annual chicken dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lordstown High School, 1824 Salt Springs Road. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. The menu includes mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, salad, pie or cake and a beverage. Carryout will be available.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 to 11 a.m. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

SATURDAY

Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, Youngstown, is selling tickets for a chicken and biscuit dinner to take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Takeout will be available. The menu includes mashed potatoes, salad, homemade dessert and beverage. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. Tickets will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Friday at the church.

Southington American Legion Post 751 will host a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the post home, 3145 Warren-Burton Road. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. The meal includes mashed potatoes, coleslaw, vegetable, beverages and dessert. Takeouts are available.

SUNDAY

Auxiliary to Fraternal Order of Eagles 3298, 1655 Raccoon Road, Austintown, will serve a stuffed cabbage dinner from noon to 5 p.m. at the aerie. The meal is sit-down or takeout and costs $10. The menu consists of two stuffed cabbage rolls, corn, mashed potatoes, haluski, dessert and coffee or tea.

Protestant Family Service will sponsor a spaghetti dinner fundraiser from noon to 4 p.m. at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children 6 to 12. Carryouts are available.

St. Mark Orthodox Church, 3560 Logan Way, Youngstown, will serve its annual lamb and chicken roast from noon to 3 p.m. It also will feature an array of Middle Eastern specialties and desserts. Tickets are available at the door for sit-down or takeout. For Information call 330-750-0505.

Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista, Youngstown, will host a free neighborhood community cookout from 4 to 7 p.m. It is sponsored by the Senior Ukrainian Orthodox League of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

TAKING ORDERS

Christ the Good Shepherd Parish at St. John the Baptist Church, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell, is taking orders for homemade haluski. To order call 330-726-5451 or 330-755-0036 between 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Wednesday; pickup will be from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 26. The cost is $5 per quart.

First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Church Hill Road, will sell 15-inch homemade pepperoni rolls for $8 each, potato soup and chicken noodle soup for $5 a quart and $3 a pint, and fresh-baked bread $2 for a large loaf and $1.50 a for a small loaf. on Sept. 20. Orders can be placed by calling 330-647-7515 and are due by Thursday. Pickup will be at the church between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, will sell stuffed cabbage takeout dinners from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8. Dinners are $8.50 and include mashed potatoes, green beans and applesauce. Stuffed cabbage also will be sold by the dozen for $16 or half-dozen for $8. Phone orders only by Sept. 30 to 330-856-4204.
