Health facilities receive funds

Health facilities receive funds

Primary-care health centers in Youngstown and Lisbon were among 37 Ohio facilities to receive Affordable Care Act funds through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The nearly $8.5 million distributed is aimed at expanding services and reaching an estimated 57,370 new patients.

Area facilities receiving funds are: Community Action Agency of Columbiana County in Lisbon, $222,278; and Ohio North East Health Systems in Youngstown, $243,064.

The awards will enable Ohio health centers to increase access to comprehensive primary health care by hiring an estimated 161 new staff members, staying open for longer hours and expanding the care they provide, HHS officials said.

Lane restrictions

HARTFORD

Starting today, state Route 87 between Mayburn Barclay Road and Ridge Road will have daily lane restrictions through late September for bridge painting.

This work is the beginning of a $4.1 million project to resurface three state Routes in the county: Route 5 from Route 7 to the Pennsylvania state line; Route 7 from Route 305 to Bradley Brownlee Road; and Route 87 from Route 46 to Route 5/7.

The project affects Greene, Gustavus, Hartford and Kinsman townships.

The entire project is expected to be completed by July 2015.
