Party honors Bylers for their 60th milestone

CANFIELD

Joseph and Patricia Byler of Canfield celebrated the 60th anniversary of their wedding during a party Sept. 7 at the Church of Our Saviour in Salem.

Hosting the festivities were the couple’s children: David (Lynn) Byler of Byron Center, Mich.; John (Hye-Seung) Byler of Mount Zion, Ill.; and Cynthia (Ron) Carter of Youngstown.

The couple also have six grandsons and one granddaughter, and they are awaiting the arrival of a great-grandson.

The Bylers were married Aug. 28, 1954, at St. James Meeting House in Boardman. They are members of the Church of Our Saviour.

Mrs. Byler, the former Patricia Downs, is a homemaker.

Mr. Byler retired in 1991 as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways. He is a member of the Handyman Club and the American Legion. He is an Army veteran serving from 1954 to 1956.
