Eagle Award
Noah Marsh, son of Bobbi Marsh of Lordstown, has earned his Eagle Scout Award. His court-of-honor ceremony was last month at Lordstown Lutheran Church.
Marsh is a member of Boy Scout Troop 4020 in Lordstown. Scoutmaster is Ed Detre. He joined the troop in Nov. 2010.
He serves as senior patrol leader and previously was a quartermaster and scribe. He has earned 32 merit badges and is working on his gold palm.
His special awards include a One Mile Swim and God and Me Spiritual awards. He is a brotherhood member of Wapashui Lodge 56 Order of the Arrow — scouting’s National Honor Society — and is a life member of the National Eagle Scouts of America.
For his Eagle Scout project, Marsh installed two benches outside the Newton Falls High School building near the boys’ and girls’ locker rooms. He organized the project, procured funds through community organizations and organized volunteer workers to complete the project.
He is a freshman at Newton Falls High School, where he participates in track and band. He is a member of the Youngstown State University Penguin swim club and the Warren G. Harding Aquatics Team swim club. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.
HONORS
Chief resident
Dr. Jazmine M. Sutton, daughter of Jerry M. and Lynette M. Sutton of Youngstown, has been selected to serve as chief medical resident of internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, from June 2016 to June 2017. She is the first African-American selected to serve in this position at BIDMC.
She graduated from Chaney High School in 2000 and was class valedictorian. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Duke University in 2004. Dr. Sutton attended medical school at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve, earning her medical degree and special qualifications in biomedical research. Her internship and residency have been at BIDMC, where her focus is internal medicine
Along with her recent honor, she also is working toward specialties in hematology/oncology and infectious disease.
