Humane society plans fundraiser

The Humane Society of Columbiana County (HSCC) will be hosting its third Chips & Dip event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at its ROCC and Rescue Center, 1825 S. Lincoln Ave.

Micro(chips) and scheduled appointments (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) for dog bathing (dips) costs are as follows: Microchip cost is $20, which includes registration.

Dog grooming including nail trim, ear cleaning, perfume and bandana is $15 for small dogs, $20 for medium dogs and $25 for large dogs.

The vets and groomers have generously donated their time. Raffle tickets will be given to those taking shelter supplies such as clay kitty litter, laundry detergent, latex gloves and gift cards.

HSCC will have adoptable pets available. HSCC is a no-kill/no-suffering 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation that maintains a shelter and responds to concerns of animal cruelty and neglect throughout Columbiana County.

Music festival to benefit children

BOARDMAN

A Rock for Kids music festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday at the Magic Tree Pub & Eatery, 7463 South Ave.

It will feature food, prizes and activities.

The festivities will benefit the children helped by the local programs and services of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

The event will feature area bands Haymaker, Graphic Pink, the Huckin’ Fillbillys, The Gary Markasky Project, No Xcuse, Fetish, Glitter Pig, Christine Witt and Bobby Fritz, and Army of 2.

Many band members have children who have been helped by the hospital, and all are donating their time.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 the day of the event.

Ladies will gather to knit, crochet, quilt

YOUNGSTOWN

Cornersburg Baptist Church, 3898 Tippecanoe Road, is inviting ladies to learn a new skill of knitting, crocheting, quilting or other crafts.

Share your skills at 6:30 p.m. Monday evenings.

Needles and yarn are provided to see if you want to participate.

Afghans have been donated to the pregnancy center in Youngstown, the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley and to two places in the Appalachian mountains.
