Luring Amazon.com

DUBLIN, Ohio

A central Ohio city is considering incentives to entice Amazon.com to build a $1.1 billion data center there.

The Columbus Dispatch reports development officials in Dublin are asking city council to approve incentives including 68 acres valued at $6.8 million for the project. Other proposed incentives include water and sewer lines, road improvements and performance incentives that could be worth up to $500,000 over 10 years.

The company hasn’t committed to the project but says it’s always looking to expand its geographic reach.

The newspaper reports the data center would generate $9.6 million in annual payroll if the project is carried out.

The Dublin City Council is expected to vote on the incentives Sept. 22.

Toyota truck recall

DETROIT

Toyota is recalling about 140,000 Tundra full-size pickup trucks because a plastic trim piece can interfere with the side air bags.

The recall affects Crew-Max and Double Cab versions in the U.S., Mexico and Canada from the 2014 model-year. The company said Thursday the trim covering the center pillars behind the front seats may have been installed incorrectly. It could stop air bags from inflating to their intended shape.

Toyota says it doesn’t know of any crashes or injuries caused by the problem.

Truck owners will be notified of the recall by mail.
