Stefanick gives teen talk

Men and Women United for Life is hosting Chris Stefanick for presentations in the Youngstown area. Stefanick is an international speaker, musician and author. He speaks to more than 50,000 teens a year and hosts special programs for teens and young adults, parents and parish ministers.

On Sept. 28 at 6:30 p.m., Stefanick will speak to teens and young adults on the topic of “No Imitations.” Chris will go beyond fear tactics and “just say no’s” to offering teens something to say “yes” to: Health, happiness, authentic relationships, faith and love. His presentation incorporates both humor and music. Area-wide pro-life groups will also be available to share their work and resources. A reception will follow the presentation. There is no charge for this event and all teens must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or parish minister.

On Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., Stefanick will speak to parents, grandparents, priests, ministers, youth ministers, teachers and anyone who is involved with teens and young adults. This presentation is titled, “Raising Holy Kids in a Postmodern World.” Youth today are faced with a world that offers little moral or religious framework to help them make sense out of life. Those attending will learn how cultural factors have robbed teens of faith and hope, and how loving adults can help give it back to them. A reception will also follow this talk. There will be a $5 charge for those who attend.

Stefanick will have a selection of his books, CD’s and DVD’s for sale during the reception. Both presentations will take place in the Parish Center at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, located at 343 Via Mt. Carmel Way in Youngstown.
