Bella Nitesh embraces mind, body and spirit

Bella Nitesh Spiritual Arts and Education Center evolved from a community-service project assigned to Deana Tareshawty when she attended the Fellowships of the Spirit learning center in Lily Dale, N.Y.
The ordained Spiritualist minister said she organized meditation circles to fulfill the curriculum requirement. That was in 2007. The project retained the community-service element through its lending library and special events and transitioned into a business on Boardman-Canfield Road.
As a Spiritualist minister, she leads the Mahoning Valley Church of the Angels at 10:30 a.m. the first and third Sundays of each month. It’s a branch of the Church of the Angels in Chesterland, Ohio.
“The Spiritualist church is not so much a religion but a philosophy,” Tareshawty said. “We believe in universal law, the golden rule and personal responsibility. It’s developing your own intuition to guide yourself,” Tareshawty said.
Bella Nitesh fulfills its spiritual arts and education description with a variety of classes and other offerings. Its website, www.bellanitesh.com, instructs visitors to “unleash your inner sparkle — mind, body and spirit.” A quote from Buddha, — “No one saves us but ourselves. No one can, and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path” — is featured on Bella Nitesh’s website. It conveys the idea that everyone must find their own way to happiness and inner peace, and for some, that may be through different practices such as yoga and meditation. In Sanskrit, Bella Nitesh means “master
of the path” and in Hindi, “heartbeat of the earth.”
Tareshawty, who offers crystal healing and sells crystals, has scheduled a Crystal Resonance Experience for Oct. 5. She said crystals are “pure, stable manifestations” of one or more of 88 chemical elements in the environment. Crystals have a steady frequency, while the human body has many elements and frequencies. “Crystals help focus your energy,” she said, adding that crystals may be used in the meditative process. Tareshawty said she often uses black tourmaline, a spiritual grounding stone. There are crystals associated with the elements of wind, water, fire, earth and storm.
At Bella Nitesh, there is Sonic Power Yoga, a spiritual and reflective session that includes crystal singing bowls as sound therapy; aura and chakra photography; drum circle; meditation; aromatherapy; and self-defense class combined with group fitness. Bella Nitesh also is home to the Youngstown Sanga of Shinnyo Buddhism led by Brandon Lowett.
Tareshawty said the practice of mindfulness, which uses meditation and reflection to achieve clarity in one’s life, has brought attention to alternative ways to seek and find spiritual peace and fulfillment.
Bella Nitesh is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. For information on specific classes and workshops, visit the Bella Nitesh’s website or call 330-729-2987.
