REPORT CARDS | 5 Mahoning Valley schools get an A, 2 get a C

COLUMBUS — Boardman, Canfield, Lowellville, Poland, South Range and Springfield each met all 24 of the indicators on the Ohio Report Cards released this morning by the Ohio Department of Education, earning each of those districts an A in that category.

Austintown Schools met 17 of the 24 indicators earning a C in that category.

Jackson-Milton met 19, also earning a C.

The indicators met in that category measures the number of students who are proficient in subject areas as determined by their scores of the state tests.

It’s only one of 10 categories to earn a grade on the 2013 to 2014 state report cards being released today. Overall grades for schools and districts won’t be assigned for two more years.

Campbell and Youngstown City Schools each scored Fs in the indicators met category while Struthers earned a C in that category.

Youngstown Schools met 0 of 24 possible indicators, Campbell met eight and Struthers met 18.
