Chardon school shooter transferred to Youngstown maximum security prison
YOUNGSTOWN
T.J. Lane, the convicted killer of three Chardon High School students who escaped from a prison Thursday night, is now at a maximum security prison in Youngstown, cleveland.com reported.
Lane, 19, along with Lindsey Bruce, 33, and Clifford Opperud, 45, who also escaped from the Lima prison are now at the Ohio State Penitentiary in Youngstown.
They were transferred out of Allen Oakwood Correctional Facility Friday morning, cleveland.com learned from the Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.
Thursday’s prison escape led to a search that resulted in the inmates’ capture within hours. Lane was apprehended near a wooded area after a canine led officers there, according to cleveland.com.
Lane pleaded guilty last year to shooting three students in Feb. 2012 in a high school cafeteria.
