Acclaimed pipe organist in concert at Stambaugh

Jonathan Ryan, one of the nation’s premier concert artists, will perform a concert on the pipe organ at Stambaugh Auditorium on Sept. 28.
The program for the 4 p.m. performance will include works by Leo Sowerby, Vivaldi, Bach, Herbert Howells and Marcel Dupre.
Tickets are $10 ($5 for seniors) and are available at the Stambaugh box office at 1000 Fifth Ave., by phone at 330-259-0555 and online at stambaughauditorium.com.
Ryan has been acclaimed for his communicative skills in various styles as well as his use of the organ’s capabilities, and bold programming.
He has performed at venues throughout the United States, Germany, France and the U.K., and has a repertoire that spans the 16th to 21st centuries.
He began playing the organ at age 8 and earned degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y.
Ryan also holds a Fellow certificate from the American Guild of Organists (AGO), the group’s highest professional certification.
He is currently the assistant director of music at Christ Church (Episcopal) in Greenwich, Conn. He also serves as faculty, principal organist and a conductor of the Church Men’s Association of America and its annual summer colloquiums.
