Rock for Kids fest to benefit children

The first Rock for Kids music festival will be Sunday at the Magic Tree Pub & Eatery, 7463 South Ave.

The daylong event will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 10 p.m. and will feature live music, food and prizes. Proceeds will benefit the children helped by the programs of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Some of the area’s top bands, including Haymaker, Graphic Pink, the Huckin’ Fillbillys, the Gary Markasky Project, No Xcuse, Fetish, Glitter Pig, Christine Witt and Bobby Fritz and Army of 2 will perform.

Many of the band members have children who have been helped by the hospital, and all are donating their time for this cause.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 on the day of the event.
