The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber has released data showing completed and pending projects.
More than $120 million was invested in completed projects that produced 469 new jobs and maintained 300 jobs.
Pending projects are expected to be announced within the next one to two years with more than $1.3 billion to be invested, and that is expected to create 916 jobs and maintain 2,188.
Sarah Boyarko, the chamber’s vice president of economic development, highlighted the construction of the new Matalco Inc. manufacturing facility in Lordstown and the expansion by Hynes Industries of its strip steel, flat wire and engineered roll formed product capacity into one location on Henricks Road in Austintown as two recent projects that retained or added jobs.
Pending projects include a “variety of industries,” including manufacturing and professional services, she said.
There were 46 out-of-state inquiries from companies or consultants interested in exploring opportunities in the Mahoning Valley, which have resulted in 24 companies touring available properties.
