Rally for Recovery cancels part of Saturday event in Warren

Organizers for the Rally for Recovery have canceled the 5K race that was planned as part of the event. The 1-mile fun walk will start at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at the pavilions near the Warren Community Amphitheatre in Perkins Park. A kid’s dash is set for 10 a.m.

The Recovery Rally will begin immediately after the walk and kid’s dash in the amphitheater. Information about recovery from drug and alcohol abuse will be available. The event also will include educational materials and free food.

The Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention and Trumbull Ashtabula Law Enforcement Task Force are organizing the event. The event is sponsored by the Humility of Mary Health Partners Foundation and the New Start Treatment Center.

ASAP, a project of the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board, is a coalition that engages in strategic partnerships to solve the community’s substance-abuse problems. Membership is free.
