Burglary probed

GIRARD

Police are investigating a burglary at the Liberty Park Apartments on Elruth Court.

A maintenance worker noticed equipment missing Monday, a police report says. A pressure washer, a device to remove clogs and two weed trimmers were taken from the maintenance garage.

Volunteers needed

WARREN

Volunteers are needed for a cleanup Saturday at Hughes Mansion, 634 N. Park Ave. Work includes carpet removal, wallpaper removal, construction-debris removal and removal of miscellaneous items. Cold drinks will be provided on the premises throughout the day with grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch at noon.

Gift provides meals

WARREN

A $10,000 gift from The Youngstown Foundation has allowed Trumbull Mobile Meals to provide seven clients each day with a hot meal for the past year.

The gift was earmarked for those who could not afford the full cost of home-delivered meals. The meals consist of a meat, starch, vegetable and cup of fruit or salad, bread and butter and a beverage.

Trumbull Mobile Meals says the foundation’s gift has improved the quality of life for people who do not have the resources to drive to a congregate meal site or food distribution center.

Historical marker

POLAND

The Poland Historical Society will dedicate a new Ohio Historical Marker at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Village Green on South Main Street near the Presbyterian Church.

The new marker, which is Poland’s fifth, will recognize the Village Green, the Old Village Graveyard and the Presbyterian Church, all of which were established in the 1800s.

Street closings

YOUNGSTOWN

These streets will be closed for the Green Cathedral Half Marathon, 5K and Kid’s Run from 7:45 a.m. to noon Sunday: Belle Vista Avenue closed between McCollum Road and Calvary Run Drive; McCollum between Bears Den Road and Belle Vista; Leyton and Branford drives at McCollum; and Kiwatha Road closed at Onista Lane, Anoka Lane and Ferndale Avenue. McCollum, Belle Vista, Leyton and Branford will be closed only for a short time. Residents will be allowed access with Youngstown Police Department assistance.

Card misuse

CAMPBELL

City police are investigating a report of alleged credit-card misuse.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 100 block of Princess Street. A 48-year-old resident told police her 25-year-old son got her credit-card number while visiting the house and was using it to make about $100 in purchases through a Sirius XM Radio account without her permission.
