Police have ID'ed 5 teens in ice bucket prank

CLEVELAND (AP) — Police in suburban Cleveland say they have identified five suspects between the ages of 14 and 17 involved in dumping a bucket of bodily fluids on an autistic teen who thought he was participating in the “Ice Bucket Challenge.”

Bay Village police chief Mark Spaetzel says evidence in the case will be presented to the Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office early next week to determine whether delinquency charges should be filed against the teens.

The incident drew worldwide attention after the autistic teen’s mother found a video of it on his cellphone and gave media outlets permission to make it available online. Spaetzel says the incident occurred at one of the suspect’s homes.

The autistic teen thought he was participating in the challenge to benefit ALS research.
