The well-child immunization clinic is offered Thursday at the Girard Health Department in the City Building at 100 W. Main St. Call the department between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 330-545-6048 for an appointment. Pre-registration of children is required.
There is a $10 fee per child. Parents are reminded to bring a copy of the child’s immunization record. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 18.
Transformations weight-loss program

Free workshops

Humility of Mary Health Partners is offering two free one-hour workshops, Health at Home, on Sept. 18 at St. Elizabeth Health Center, 1044 Belmont Ave.
The morning session runs from 11 a.m. to noon in the Youngstown Room. The evening session is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Mental-health summit Sept. 18

The Human Services Center is offering a mental-health summit for police, emergency responders and veterans from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 110 E. $20,000 raised for autism center
POLAND
The recent “Evening of Summer Fun” at The Lake Club, benefiting the Rich Center for Autism in Youngstown, raised more than $20,000.
Hosted by Taylor Kia of Boardman, the event included a live charity auction, door prizes, live entertainment, a gourmet meal and cocktails. Also, Taylor Kia auctioned a one-year lease of a new Kia K900 luxury sedan.
Autism spectrum disorder is a range of complex neurodevelopment disorders, characterized by social impairments, communication difficulties, and restricted, repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behavior. Experts estimate that one out of 88 children age 8 will have an ASD.
Wing challenge for kids scheduled

The second Steel Valley Wing Challenge to benefit Homes For Kids is from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 24 at Tiffany’s Banquet Center, 601 Bedford Road.
Guests will sample more than 30 flavors of wings from more than 10 vendors. It will include entertainment by Trilogy, celery and carrots provided by Save-A-Lot and raffles. A wing-eating contest takes place at a cost of $10 per person.
