Fundraiser to help orphaned Russian boy

A homemade spaghetti dinner fundraiser will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road.

The funds will help with medical expenses for Kolya Deiken, a disabled orphan from Dmitrov, Russia.

Kolya first came to our area as a child to be fitted with prosthetic legs several years ago, but he has outgrown his prostheses and costly adjustments need to be made.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $6 for children 6 to 12 and free for those 5 and under.

The dinner includes two meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and beverages.

Kolya and an interpreter will be present at the dinner.
