Campbell police arrest man on drug charges

CAMPBELL

A 30-year-old Youngstown man was arrested Friday on charges of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, along with endangering children, after police discovered a burnt marijuana cigarette in his car. His two young children were in his car during the traffic stop.

Andre Pierre Underwood II of Whitman Lane will answer to those charges — as well as a traffic citation for failing to use his turn signal — at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Campbell Municipal Court.

Police stopped Underwood at 4:40 p.m. Friday on McCartney Road for the traffic violation, and immediately noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car. In all, police confiscated from Underwood the marijuana cigarette totaling 0.7 grams and $490 in cash. Underwood posted his $5,750 bond ($575 in cash).
