A judge from suburban Columbus has been charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence and hit-skip after he was accused of driving into a city bus in the Arena District of Columbus.
Sixty-year-old Dean Wilson of Roseville was arrested Aug. 31, The Columbus Dispatch reported. No one was injured.
Wilson is a Perry County municipal judge who has driven home the dangers of drunken driving by conducting trials for DUI suspects at a high school near Columbus.
He is accused of driving away after hitting the bus while changing lanes around 9:30 p.m. He was tracked by a police helicopter and pulled over on Interstate 70, the Dispatch reported. Wilson refused blood-alcohol and field sobriety tests.
Wilson’s attorney declined to comment Saturday.
