Info on Dairy Margin Protection program this week in Canfield

CANFIELD — Information about the Dairy Margin Protection Program and what it means for dairy farmers will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Mill Creek MetroParks Farm, 7574 Columbiana-Canfield Road.

The park district will have Ohio State University Extension Service experts available to give the facts to help dairy farmers make the best decision possible.

The 2014 farm bill initiated a new dairy risk management program expected to assist with price-risk management when the Milk Income Loss Contract and price-support programs expire this fall.

All dairy farmers will need to make a decision whether to participate.
