AUSTINTOWN
Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer David G. Yuengert, a 1993 graduate of Youngstown Wilson High School, was promoted to his present rank while serving aboard the USS Michael Murphy, a guided missile destroyer out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Yuengert, the son of Barbara Yuengert of Austintown and David J. Yuengert in Kansas, is the division chief gunnery officer and operates and maintains the Aegis Combat System, an integrated naval weapons system that uses computer and radar technology to track and guide weapons to destroy enemy targets. He has been in the Navy 22 years.
Yuengert and his wife, the former Holly Stanley, a graduate of Youngstown Ursuline High School, have three children: Kylie and twin boys, Connor and David.
ADVANCED TRAINING
Air Force 1st Lt. Anthony M. Olive, the grandson of Mary (Centafonte) and Anthony Olive of Lowellville, and Arlene (Vogel) and Murray Solins of Brooklyn, N.Y., recently completed Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals at Columbus Air Force Base, Miss.
Olive graduated June 27 from the F-15E Strike Eagle basic course at Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C. While at Seymour, Olive was part of the 334th Fighter Squadron.
He is stationed at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, flying with the 389th Fighter Squadron as part of the 4th Fighter Wing.
