warren Selection of jurors for murder trial to continue

Staff report

WARREN

The judge and attorneys in the David Martin murder trial will narrow down the current 38 potential jurors to 12 jurors and four alternates Monday morning.

That may take only a few hours and allow opening statements and testimony to begin sometime Monday.

The parties narrowed down the list of potential jurors from 400 to 38 Tuesday through Friday morning through individual interviews in the courtroom of Judge Andrew Logan of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Martin, 29, of Cleveland, could get the death penalty if he’s convicted of killing Jeremy Cole, 21, of Warren, and wounding Melissa Putnam, 27, also of Warren, on Sept. 27, 2012, at Putnam’s home on Oak Street Southwest.
