Veteran’s son will speak at gathering

CANFIELD

John R. Walker II will speak about his recent book, “Bracket the Enemy — Forward Observers in World War II,” at the World War II Heritage Society on Sept. 15 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St.

He will share the story of his dad’s service as an artillery observer during the war, when he served with the 87th Division in Europe.

The speech will be preceded by a dinner.
