Warren trucking company planning more than $1 million expansion
Staff report
WARREN
Warren City Council and the Trumbull County commissioners will be asked by Jaro Transportation Services to approve a 75-percent, 10-year property-tax abatement for construction of a10,000-square-foot warehouse.
It will be built near the company’s existing building on Post Road Northwest in Warren Commerce Park. The project also includes the addition of 3,200 square feet of office space.
It is expected to cost between $1 million and $1.4 million and add 10 jobs in the next two years, according to documents filed with Warren.
In addition to warehousing and office space, the project will include space for equipment repair and the addition of a 30-ton crane, said Mark Zigmont, economic development coordinator for the county planning commission.
City council will address the tax abatement at its meeting Wednesday. Commissioners are likely to take up the matter at their Sept. 17 meeting.
The company says it employs about 150 workers in Ohio.
