ASSOCIATIONS

BOOSTERS

Salem High Band Boosters will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school band room. Parents and grandparents of students in grades five through 12 are invited to attend.

CLASSES

Campbell Memorial High School January and June Classes of 1948 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Denny’s Restaurant on Route 224 in Boardman. All classmates and spouses are invited.

Campbell Memorial Class of 1955 will have its monthly breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday at What’s Cookin’ in the Mathews Road Plaza in Boardman. Classmates, mates and guests are welcome.

Chaney High School Class of 1948 will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Denny’s in Austintown for a luncheon. All are welcome.

Woodrow Wilson High School January and June classes of 1947 will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Denny’s in Boardman. Members of the classes of 1946 and 1948 also are welcome.

Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1959 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Stonebridge Grille, 1497 Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. All classmates and spouses are welcome.

Brush Knife Needle Folks will meet at 9 a.m. every Tuesday at the Senior Independence Center, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. Brush and canvas, knife and wood, needle and yarn or any material or tool are used to create a desired subject. New members are welcome to share or learn a craft. Youngstown Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. will have its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Sept. 13 at the McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road in Youngstown.

GROUPS

Transcendental Interest Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Park Vista North Lounge, 1310 Fifth Ave., Youngstown. At the September session, Dr. Agnes Martinko will lead the group through guided imagery that could be used for stress reduction, or to enhance creativity. The group is for those interested in exploring the inner way of knowing. It meets on the second Wednesday of every month. It is coordinated by Martinko and is free and open to the public. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Boardman Library Friends will resume their monthly meetings on Monday with Dr. Brian Bonhomme, YSU department of history, speaking on “Russia and the Crimea.” Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. with the program following at 10. Hostesses are Shirley Shafer, Pat McElwain and Barbara Dean. The public is encouraged to donate books, magazines, CDs and DVDs, which will be collected at the library the first and third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. All proceeds support the summer reading program.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will meet for monthly Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows on Sept. 17. The rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the Mass begins at 10.

Mount Carmel Society of St. Rose Church will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the lower church.

SERVICE CLUBS

Girard-Liberty Kiwanis will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St., Girard.

D.A.R.E. Alzheimer Network Family Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at St. John Orthodox Church, 322 Struthers-Liberty Road, Campbell; 7 p.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown; and 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Charles Church, Boardman-Canfield Road. Nar-Anon, a 12-step program for relatives and friends who have been adversely affected by a loved one’s addiction to drugs, meets at 7 p.m. tonight and every Friday at the Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic, 160 Clifton NE, Howland. The Tuesday meetings have been discontinued.

Salem-Lisbon La Leche League, a breast-feeding support group, meets twice a month. All pregnant women, mothers and babies are welcome.
