YOUNGSTOWN

Police say two people were injured after a fight broke out at a home in the 100 block of East Judson Avenue about 1:40 a.m. Thursday.

Police were called to the area for gunfire and when they arrived, a man ran away through several yards before he was caught by a police dog under the porch of a nearby home. The man, Martin Stewart, 46, of Lake Drive, had a dislocated shoulder and had to be pulled out from under the porch by an officer.

Another man at the home was bleeding from the face and said someone had hit him in the face with a gun.

Reports said Stewart denied having a gun, and had come to the home to look for the man who was hit in the face, alleging that man stole appliances from the home of Stewart’s mother. Stewart admitted fighting.

Stewart was arrested on charges of felonious assault and obstructing official business.

Stewart and the other man were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center to be treated for their injuries, and gunshot residue tests also were performed on both men.
