Traffic stop leads to drug-possession charge

CAMPBELL — Police arrested a 22-year-old city man on a charge of drug possession after a Wednesday afternoon traffic stop.

Police arrested Ryan C. Frey of Bright Avenue, a passenger in a car that failed to stop at a stop sign, after finding two bags containing 1.3 grams of suspected marijuana on him. He admitted to police he had the drugs in his shorts when officers asked if anything illegal was in the car.

Frey is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Sept. 16.
