Lake Milton police officer faces domestic-violence charges


AUSTINTOWN — Township police arrested a police officer with the Lake Milton Police Department on Wednesday on domestic-violence charges.

According to a police report, Michael Saltsman Sr., 50, of Washington Square Drive, got into an argument with his wife, and then struck her on the face, causing her to fall. He reportedly caused her to fall to the ground a second time in a second altercation after she returned from a neighbor’s apartment, where she had gone to ask for help.

According to the report, Austintown police took possession of Saltsman’s duty weapons, magazines and ammunition.

Saltsman posted the $2,500 bond after his arrest. He is scheduled to appear in area court here Monday.
