YOUNGSTOWN
An Andrews Avenue manufacturing business is spending $250,000 for an 8,000-square-foot storage facility.
Fireline Inc. is expected to have the work done by December, Len Summers, an engineer with Murphy Contracting Co., the company building the addition, told the city’s design-review committee Tuesday.
The contractor also is located on Andrews Avenue.
“Fireline is out of storage space,” Summers said after the committee approved the proposal. “They’ve grown considerably over the past few years. We started clearing the site for the storage space.”
Fireline, which employs about 100 people, makes industrial ceramics for melting and casting molten metal, particularly nickel and cobalt.
The company serves multiple industries but focuses on aerospace with clients including General Electric, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce.
Fireline’s supplies assist in building jet engines and land-based turbines for power generation.
Fireline operates an 84,000-square-foot manufacturing facility on Andrews Avenue.
