LEETONIA

Crafty people are heading to Leetonia for an Artisans Festival, set for Sept. 21 in Wick Park, Walnut Street. The day’s activities will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As a highlight of the festival, a wooden glider and footrest from the Off Main shop of Linda Durham in Washingtonville will be raffled. Tickets are being sold for $1 each or six for $5 and are available at the Leetonia Water Department office in the Leetonia Village Administration Building and at the Off Main store or by calling Toni Manzetti, chair of the festival, at 330-853-5489.

The furniture is on display at the Leetonia Community Public Library, 181 Walnut St.

During the festival there will be a Vintage Vehicle Show sponsored by the Friends of the Leetonia Library, with a People’s Choice Award to be given.

A farmer’s market will sell produce in the park, and disc jockey Ron Chick will provide music beginning at 10 a.m. The Leetonia Marching Band will perform at 1:30 p.m., and the Beat Brothers will entertain from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

The library friends’ book sale will take place in the annex building behind the library. Karen Biery, author and artist, will talk about her latest work in progress — a book about the Leetonia coke ovens — at 11 a.m. at the library.

Children are encouraged to create sidewalk art at the library.
