Cruze sales down slightly in August

YOUNGSTOWN — Sales for the Chevrolet Cruze are down by two percent, according to a report released by General Motors. There were 23,435 vehicles sold in August down from 23,909 last year.

GM sold 272,423 vehicles in August alone, a 1.2 percent decrease from last year. However, GM has sold 1,984,451 vehicles for 2014 as of August, which is nearly a three percent increase from last year. There were 189,699 vehicles sold for 2014 as of August, a 3.6 percent increse from last year.

“We see a strong fall selling season ahead for GM and the industry,” said Kurt McNeil, U.S. vice president of Sales Operations.
