“CBS Fall Preview” (8:30 P.M., CBS): Learn all about the eyeball network’s new fall shows, including “Stalker” and “The McCarthys.”

“Houdini” (9 p.m., History Channel): “Fear is how I know I’m alive,” the title character of this two-part miniseries says as he explains what motivated him to spend his life defying death. Oscar winner Adrien Brody stars as the escape artist who rose from humble circus sideshows to become America’s first world-renown superstar. The film traces Houdini’s public stunts as they grow more spectacular and risky, while also trying to delve into what made him tick.

“The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story” (9 p.m., Lifetime): Hormone alert. Time for a nostalgic trip back to Bayside High School for “The Unauthorized Saved By the Bell Story.” The film tells the story of six unknown actors thrust into the spotlight in the early ’90s when they were cast in the popular sitcom.

“America’s Next Top Model” (9 p.m., The CW): Um, this could be awkward: On tonight’s edition of “America’s Next Top Model,” the contestants take part in another photo shoot, during which they’re given only a string to wear.

Basket auction for Saxon fund

AUSTINTOWN

The Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road, will present its 24th annual basket auction Sept. 7. Proceeds benefit the club’s scholarship fund for Youngstown State University students. Doors open for bidding at noon, and the auction will begin at 2 p.m. in the club’s ballroom. Auctioneer will be Casey Malone, host of “The Casey Malone” show on 21 WFMJ-TV. Admission is $5, which includes a door-prize entry, hot dog, chips, coffee, pop or water, and 25 free auction bidding tickets.
