DUI arrest

YOUNGSTOWN

A Youngstown man is set to appear in Youngstown Municipal Court on Tuesday on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs or both. Youngstown police arrested Robert Demings, 44, at 5:45 p.m. Friday after observing a totaled gray Chrysler Sebring on Firnley and West Boston. Police said Demings appeared to be trapped in the vehicle, so they helped him out.

Demings was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Health Center. Witnesses told police his car had been traveling fast northbound on Firnley when it crashed into a tree and flipped over. Later, at the hospital, Demings told police said he’d had several cocktails before the crash.
