Handel's Koins for Kids kickoff is Saturday

The Handel’s Koins for Kids campaign to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley will kick off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with a firefighters’ boot drive.

Area firefighters will collect donations at these intersections: Canfield and Meridian Road, Youngstown and Austintown Fire Departments; Belmont Avenue and state Route 304, Liberty Fire Department; Youngstown-Poland Road and Wilson Avenue, Struthers Fire Department; South Avenue and Mathews Road, Boardman Fire Department; and Shields Road and state Route 46, Canfield Fire Department.

Also, local school children can participate in the campaign by conducting fund raising activities and personalizing holiday snowman decorations in exchange for donations to the hospital from Dec. 1 to Dec. 12. Schools in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties are invited to participate. For information and to register, call Handel’s at 330-702-8270.
